Shepherd University has begun construction on a New Wellness Center. It is projected to open in the Spring Semester of 2009. This new facility will be located on the West Side of the Butcher Athletic Center and will include:

• 2 Racquetball Courts
• Indoor Walking Track
• 8 Lane by 25 Yard Indoor Heated Pool
• 2 Multi-Purpose Rooms
• Fitness Assessment Suite
• 7500+ Square Feet of Weight and Fitness
• Rotunda Social Space with Dining Venue
• Men's and Women's Locker Rooms
• Family Locker Room
